Con un doctorado en volcanolog\u00eda, se ha especializado, adem\u00e1s, en los campos de la limnogeolog\u00eda, la geolog\u00eda isot\u00f3pica y la geolog\u00eda ambiental, habiendo dirigido y participado en numerosos proyectos de investigaci\u00f3n y extensi\u00f3n nacionales e internacionales. Cuenta con m\u00e1s de 50 publicaciones cient\u00edficas y participa en el Grupo Asesor T\u00e9cnico y Cient\u00edfico de la Plataforma de Cambio Clim\u00e1tico, Riesgo y Resiliencia en Sitios UNESCO representando a la Reserva de Biosfera Andino Norpatag\u00f3nica. Integra el Comit\u00e9 ejecutivo Cities on Volcanoes de la Asociacion Internacional de Volcanolog\u00eda y Qu\u00edmica del Interior de la Tierra (IAVCEI). Ha promovido y coordinado numerosos convenios y servicios tecnol\u00f3gicos geoambientales con gobiernos e instituciones nacionales, provinciales y municipales, con empresas ambientales y ONGs en tem\u00e1ticas relacionadas con los peligros e impactos volc\u00e1nicos y de procesos tsunamig\u00e9nicos en lagos, la zonificaci\u00f3n geoambiental, la gesti\u00f3n territorial, la disposici\u00f3n de RSU y la caracterizaci\u00f3n de sitios contaminados.
